I am an eighteen year old girl living in Vermont, currently taking off a year between high school and college. I have several interests of the geeky persuasion, and I can go off on long rants about fiction, music, or even NPR if the mood hits me. I read quite a bit when I have the time, and I watch lots of anime when I don't have the time, and I listen to folk music whenever I am in the vicinity of a device capable of playing it. I talk about my life, as well, but that's generally either very boring, or friends locked.

Speaking of friends locked, this journal isn't, though it may become so in the future. Anyway, if you want to friend me, just comment on one of my entries or send me a message to let me know who you are and what's going on.

You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting —
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.

"Wild Geese," by Mary Oliver.
